Development and Representative Programmes for athletes, umpires and coaches

The Thames Valley Hockey Association offers development and representative pathways for players, coaches, managers and umpires.  Hockey is changing and the traditional representative pathways have been replaced by development/skills based programmes and festivals.  Balance is Better is a Sport NZ philosphy for Youth Sport to create more rewarding experiences across all ranges of ability.  Visit www.balanceisbetter.org.nz for more information.

We run holiday programmes and after school clinics, dates and information for which is announced on various social media platforms.

Representative Hockey
Is the highest level that Thames Valley players can achieve for the Valley.

Representative Programmes

Youth players
Thames Valley Hockey enters teams in regional/local festivals in September/October - These replace the National tournament age groups.  Players are encouraged to attend the skills development programmes in the run up to the festivals.

U16 and U18
Tournaments in July and October.  

National Masters Tournament
In 2021 players from Thames Valley will travel to Tauranga for the National Masters tournament  28 Feb- 6 March - Good luck to all participants!

Thames Valley Representative Selection
Upon Selection players are required to pay $250 deposit

Player Eligiblity
